Telford Ice Rink’s pancake race on ice is back!
Telford Ice Rink are once again embracing Shrove Tuesday as they host their second charity pancake race on ice.
On Tuesday 5 March, between 12.30 - 2pm local businesses and teams of four will battle it out to win the title of “Best Flipper in Telford 2019”. Who will claim the title from the 2018 champions Signal 107?
The relay race will require some serious balance and speed, whilst flipping a pancake until you reach your team mate at the other side. Bring your competitive hats, it’s about to get tense…
Entry to the take part or spectate in the pancake race is free; the team at Telford Ice Rink are simply asking for donations to contribute towards the Mayor’s Charity – Building Bridges, Bringing Communities Together).
All businesses entered will be given the opportunity to take photos and videos on the ice of their teams taking part, and are encouraged to dress in fancy dress to help distinguish what business or team they represent.
Councillor John Minor, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Green Spaces and Parks, said: “Last year was a great success, we’re encouraging local businesses and communities to get involved.”
“The only question that remains is, who will win the title of “Best Flipper in Telford 2019” and who will be taking away the booby prize of a wooden spoon?”
