Cllr Shaun Davies, Telford & Wrekin Council Leader, said: “This is our chance to tell all the hardworking health professionals how grateful we are for what they do.
“This is an important time for the health service in Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire and mid Wales. There is a consultation running called ‘Future Fit’ over the future of our local hospitals. There are two options on the table and we favour the one that we believe will best serve everybody.
“If you are in Telford town centre on Saturday 30 June, come and see us and check out the impressive new public square near the water. There’ll be live music, children’s entertainment, a giant birthday card to sign and a cake.
“Councillors will be on hand to explain the Council’s favoured option in the consultation and encourage as many people as possible to complete the ‘Future Fit’ survey.
“In the week that follows, I hope many NHS staff will take advantage of our leisure and entertainment offer to them.
“We are all thankful for the NHS. It has achieved so much in its first 70 years and we want the very best for it, for many years to come.”
