‘Moving On’ to a healthier future with Fit4All New class

Telford & Wrekin Council, in partnership with Fit4All, is pleased to announce the launch of Moving On, a programme of gentle exercise classes tailored for individuals aged 50 and above to support their health and wellbeing.

Moving On classesmix seated and standing movement, aiming to promote mobility, strength, andbalance while fostering an environment where participants can enhance theirfitness levels and stay steady on their feet.

Additionally, it is an opportunity for communities to come together and make connections in support of their mental wellbeing.

Cllr Kelly Middleton, Cabinet Member for Healthy, Safer & Stronger Communities and Partnerships, said: “The Moving On classes are an exciting opportunity for residents to support their physical and mental wellbeing, no matter their ability.

“The classes will support residents to be stronger and steadier, significantly reducing the risks of cardiovascular disease, falls, depression, dementia, joint and back pain, obesity and various cancers.

“But these classes aren't just about exercise; they're about empowering individuals to lead healthier, more active lives while fostering a sense of belonging within our community.

“We hope those residents that benefitted from the community preventing falls through exercise programme by Fit4All find these Moving On classes just as useful to move them on to happier and healthier futures.”

Jude Bailey, Fit4All Director commented: “The FIT4ALL team are very excited about ‘Moving On’.

“It is a great opportunity for us to strengthen our extremely successful Community Preventing Falls Through Exercise Programme with classes that offer participants progression to this new service.

“New participants to ‘Moving On’ will benefit from exercise that will help improve their health and well-being and will be particularly suitable for those with long term health conditions.”

Led by qualified and friendly Fit4All Instructors, the Moving On classes are made accessible with Telford & Wrekin Council's support, priced at £3 per session or £10 when pre-booking four sessions.

Classes can be found and booked via the Fit4All website or by calling 01952 908738.
