Storm Ciara in Telford – trees down, flooding and other damage

As Storm Ciara continues to batter Telford people are being encouraged to please report issues online if you see a fallen tree blocking a road or a footpath.

Telford and Wrekin Council's Building Control teams also attended a number of incidents of buildings damaged by high winds that posed a risk to the public during Storm Ciara.

Torrential rains also led to localised flooding and preparations are in hand should flood barriers need to be deployed in the borough.

Telford and Wrekin Council leader Shaun Davies said: “Our thanks go to all the council teams and contractors for their response to Storm Ciara and doing a great job in helping to keep roads and paths clear in very difficult conditions.

"Thanks also to our residents and partners for their invaluable help minimising the storm's impact.”
