New roadshows bring council services closer to communities
From October, it will be even easier for Telford and Wrekin residents to access council services, as the local authority begins a year-long series of ‘First Point Roadshows’ to bring council services closer to local neighbourhoods.
Over the next twelve months, the sessions will be held weekly in different locations around the borough, in central community locations.
Members of the council’s customer services team will be available in person to help with queries, report issues and signpost to other services, although they won’t be able to deal with any payments.
Each session will run for three hours and there’s no need to book an appointment in advance.
Councillor Nathan England, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member for Finance, Governance and Customer Services, said: “We know that some people can struggle to access our services, or prefer to speak to someone face to face, so we’re introducing this series of roadshows, all around the borough, to bring council services closer to local neighbourhoods.
“Our customer service team will be on-hand, in-person, to provide help with queries and issues and also help to access other services, both from the council and our trusted partners. “
The series of roadshows start at Randlay Community Centre on Friday 6 October, before moving to Admaston House the following week, on Tuesday 10 October, both between 10am and 1pm.
