Councillor Shirley Reynolds, Cabinet member for children and young people, added: “This is a shocking and upsetting incident.

"Telford & Wrekin Council will work with the school, the police and other partners to ensure that all communities in Telford and Wrekin feel safe and are kept safe.”

Cllr Raj Mehta, Chair of Telford and Wrekin Interfaith Council, added:“We are working with the council and the police to support community cohesion in the town.”
