Safety measures will mirror those in place at facilities that have already re-opened. These include screens in reception areas, hand sanitiser stations, increased cleaning schedules, limited capacities for activities and one way systems within the centres, all to ensure the safety of customers when using the facilities.

To enable Aspirations members to decide when they are ready to return to a fitness environment, direct debits will not automatically be resumed. All aspirations members will need to email direct.debitadministrator@telford.gov.uk to request their Aspirations membership to be unfrozen. This will need to be done before they can pre-book gym slots or fitness classes online, which will be available 3 days in advance. For more information about this, and FAQ’s please click here.

All activities will require pre-booking and payment which can either be done online or by telephoning the centre.

Customers will be asked to adhere to safety guidelines while visiting the centre. Customers can find detailed guidelines and more information about what to expect here.

Cllr Eileen Callear, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Libraries, and Culture said: “We’re excited to be reopening Phoenix Sports & Leisure Centre again and would like to thanks residents and customers for their patience whilst we put in place the necessary measures to ensure everyone can return in a safe environment.

“I am pleased that Telford & Wrekin Council have now successfully reopened 8 leisure facilities following their enforced closure.

“We would like to re-assure customers that we have the recommended measures in place to ensure everybody is exercising in a safe environment.”
