Easter eggs for vulnerable and isolated residents

The generosity from RAF Cosford, Shropshire Electrical Supplies and St Georges Partnership was overwhelming last week as they donated more than 1,500 Easter eggs for people in care homes, children in care, care leavers, vulnerable people and other key front line workers.

Easter eggs for vulnerable and isolated residents

The majority of Easter eggs were delivered to care homes, children in care, care leavers and other key front line workers over the weekend.

Some of the Easter eggs were added to food parcels which were handed out to vulnerable and self-isolated residents who requested help through the community helpline.  The Telford and Wrekin Interfaith Council supported these deliveries.

Cllr Paul Watling Cabinet Member for Cooperative Communities, Engagement and Partnerships said: “The generosity of RAF Cosford, Shropshire Electrical Supplies and St Georges Partnership was amazing especially over the Easter weekend.

“The work the Telford and Wrekin Interfaith Council do is appreciated by all especially during these unprecedented times.  It goes to show the extent of local businesses’ kindness.”

Cllr Raj Mehta Chair of the Telford and Wrekin Interfaith Council said: “It is important to foster good relationships and build bridges between people of different backgrounds and faiths, especially during the holiday period when we are all staying at home.”
