Pride in Our Community improvements - week starting 2 September 2019
Here’s what our crews are working on this week, plus links to more information, useful reminders and to report any issues you are aware of.
Road surfacing – crews have started resurfacing work at Trench Lock Interchange which is due to last up to four weeks. This is a busy interchange, so to keep disruption to a minimum, the work will be carried out overnight with road closures in place (7pm to 6am). There will be diversion signs in place and residents’ access will be maintained. More information about this and other improvement projects here.
Drains – crews are out with the gully tanker cleaning drains in Horsehay and Furnace Lane. You can report a drainage issue here.
Road signs and safety schemes – crews are improving signage at Garrison Roadabout and also installing road safety measures around Wombridge Primary and Telford Priory.
Potholes - crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. This week they are in Dawley, Halesfield, High Ercall, Leegomery, Newport, Oakengates, Red Lake, Snedshill, Woodside and Wrockwardine Wood. Please report any you spot here.
Footpaths – crews are improving footpaths in St Georges (Gower St, Snow Hill, West St and Wavertree Cls). You can report a footpath issue here.
Street lighting – crews fix faulty street lights reported to us. Please report any you spot here.
Grounds maintenance – crews are out grass cutting in areas across the borough and doing meadow cuts in Apley Woods, Dothill, Granville, Muxton Marsh and Rough Park. The arboricultural team will be in Dawley Bank, Randlay, Sutton Hill, Wellington and Shawbirch. You can report a grounds maintenance issue here.
Street cleansing - crews are bin emptying and litter picking in areas across the borough and road sweeping in Wellington. You can report an issue with littering here.
Street Champions – our volunteer Street Champions are out and about doing their bit to keep neighbourhoods tidy. Details about becoming a Street Champion and other volunteering opportunities here.
Bin collections – remember to check your 2019/20 bin calendar, as collections will be changing for some households starting this week (either a change of collection day or change to what containers are collected in a given week). Here’s a link to our online bin day checker. Also the weekly food waste collection service starts this week, more information about the food service here.
