Pride in Our Community improvements - week beginning 5 August 2019

Roadworks and traffic management schemes – get live updates on schemes in Telford and Wrekin here.

Drains – crews are out with the gully tanker cleaning drains in Brookside and Stirchley again this week. You can report a drainage issue here.

Road marking – crews are refreshing road markings in Apley, Dawley and Wellington.

Road surfacing – crews are in Leegomery (Whitchurch Drive).

Potholes – crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. This week they are in Dawley, Malinslee, Newdale, Priorslee and Trench. Please report any you spot here.

Footpaths – crews are improving footpaths in Dawley Bank, Hadley, Leegomery, Malinslee, Shawbirch, Trench, Wellington and Wrockwardine Wood. You can report a footpath issue here.

Street lighting – the main programme to upgrade street lights to more energy efficient LEDs is complete. Crews are, however, revisiting various locations to upgrade any less straightforward lights e.g. where access had been an issue on their initial visit. If you have a question about street lighting, please email streetlighting@telford.gov.uk.

Grounds maintenance – crews are out grass cutting in areas across the borough and summer pruning in Brookside, Leegomery, Priorslee and St Georges.  You can report a grounds maintenance issue here. idverde has also organised a free Minibeast Safari event for families on Friday 9 August 11am-1pm at Dothill (field off Harley Close) – all are welcome.

Street cleansing – crews are out litter picking in Woodside, Stirchley and Halesfield, bin emptying across the borough and road sweeping in Hollinswood and Randlay. You can report an issue with littering here.

Environmental enforcement – there are around 2,500 litter bins in the borough for people to dispose of their litter and dog waste, so there’s no need to litter. Anyone caught littering faces a fine of £80 (soon to be £150 if dropped from a vehicle). If you see anyone littering (including from a vehicle), please report it here.

Street Champions – our volunteer Street Champions are out and about doing their bit to keep neighbourhoods tidy. Details about becoming a Street Champion and other volunteering opportunities here.

Recycling and waste collections – just a reminder that the new food waste service starts in September and you will find more information here. Also there will be a change in collections for some households in September and details will be in the annual calendars being sent out to households this month.
