Pride in Our Community improvements - week beginning 20 May 2019

Roadworks and traffic management schemes - get live updates on Telford and Wrekin here.

Road surface improvements – crews are surface dressing roads in Leegomery (Leegate Avenue), Wellington (High Street and Tern Way), Arleston (Kingsland), Donnington (Mossey Green, Lodge Road and Donnington Wood Way), Stirchley (Calcott and Churncote), Dawley (Stirchley Lane and Parish Close).

Road lining – crews are refreshing road markings in Arleston and the Nedge.

Drains – the gully tanker and crews are cleaning and emptying drains in Halesfield, Madeley and Sutton Hill. You can report a drainage issue here.

Footpaths – crews are improving footpaths in Newport (Forton Glade, Kestrel Close, and Masons Place).  You can report a footpath issue here.

Potholes - crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. This week they are in Dawley, Ironbridge, Lawley, Newport and Wellington. Please report any you spot here.

Street lighting – the main programme to upgrade street lights to more energy efficient LEDs is complete. Crews are, however, revisiting various locations to upgrade any less straightforward lights e.g. where access had been an issue on their initial visit. If you have a question about street lighting, please email streetlighting@telford.gov.uk

Grounds maintenance – grounds maintenance crews are out as usual this week – mowing and tidying. Planting of summer bedding starts soon. You can report a grounds maintenance issue here.

Street cleansing - crews are also out road/footpath sweeping, litter picking, bin emptying etc. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here

Street Champions – our volunteer Street Champions are out and about doing their bit to keep neighbourhoods tidy. There are three litter picks planned this week: Residents at Rose Manor will be out in Ketley from 10.30am on Tuesday 21 May, Residents at Lawley Bank Court will be out from 10.30am on Wednesday 22 May and Street Champions meet at St Johns Church in Muxton at midday on Friday 24 May.  More information about becoming a Street Champion and other volunteering opportunities here.

Environmental enforcement – our enforcement officers have been investigating two separate fly tips; the first was a pile of soil from someone’s garden, the second was household waste. Both were traced back to the owners of the flytips' contents and both have been issued with Fixed Penalty Notices of £400. Our Household Recycling Centres are open every day 9am-5pm.
