Pride In Our Community improvements - week beginning 7 May 2019

Roadworks and traffic management schemes - Get live updates on street works and traffic management schemes in Telford and Wrekin here.

Road lining – crews are out refreshing road markings in Madeley and Sutton Hill.

Drains – a gully tanker is continuing with the year-long programme to clean and empty the borough’s 33,000 drains. This week, crews are continuing work in Halesfield, Madelely and Sutton Hill. You can report a drainage issue here.

Footpaths – crews are working in Wrockwardine Wood and Trench (Church Road, Wade Road, Malcolm Davies Drive, Gibbons Road, Dickins Road, Lennox Road and James Nelson Crescent). You can report a footpath issue here.

Potholes - crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. This week they are in Coalbrookdale, Donnington, Ironbridge and Malinslee. Please report any you spot here.

Jackfield – are scheduled to be lifted into place on  Wednesday and Thursday.

Street lighting – the main programme to upgrade street lights to more energy efficient LEDs is complete. Crews are, however, revisiting various locations to upgrade any less straightforward lights e.g. where access had been an issue on their initial visit. If you have a question about street lighting, please email streetlighting@telford.gov.uk.

Grounds maintenance and litter picking – grounds maintenance crews are out as usual this week – mowing and tidying. You can report a grounds maintenance issue here. Street cleansing crews are also out road/footpath sweeping, litter picking, bin emptying etc. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here.

Street Champions – our volunteer Street Champions are out and about doing their bit to keep neighbourhoods tidy. As are Capgemini’s graduates & apprentices who are litter picking the town centre, and Newdale Primary School pupils who are taking part in a Junior Street Champion workshop to learn about environmental crimes and helping with a litter pick in Overdale.  Details about becoming a Street Champion and other volunteering opportunities here.

Environmental enforcement – following a report from a local resident who witnessed a motorist throwing a sandwich packet out of their car window, the offender was tracked down and issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice for littering which they have paid. Our thanks go to the resident for taking the time to let us know. Please help keep Telford and Wrekin clean, green and litter free - if you spot someone littering, report it here.
