Pride In Our Community improvements - week beginning 8 April 2019
Here’s what crews are working on this week, as well as links to more information and to report any issues you are aware of.
Roadworks and traffic management schemes - get live updates on Telford and Wrekin here.
Drains – a gully tanker is continuing with the year-long programme to clean and empty the borough’s 33,000 drains. You can report a drainage issue here.
Gritting – our gritters will be out if needed. Here’s the Met Office 5 day forecast for Telford.
Potholes - crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. Please report any you spot here.
Street lighting – the main programme to upgrade street lights to more energy efficient LEDs is complete. Crews are, however, revisiting various locations to upgrade any less straightforward lights e.g. where access had been an issue on their initial visit. If you have a question about street lighting, please email streetlighting@telford.gov.uk.
Grounds maintenance and litter picking – crews are out as usual this week. You can report a grounds maintenance issue here. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here.
Street Champions – Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean continues with various clean ups happening locally this week. Staff from Wilko (Wellington) are out from 8am on Tuesday 9 April cleaning up around Haygate Road and nearby parking areas. On Thursday 11 April, Street Champions are joining staff from Talent Match and Wilko (Southwater Square) to clean up around the town centre and Town Park, meet at Meeting Point House at 1pm. On Sunday 14 April, Chetwynd Aston & Woodcote Parish Council is hosting a litter pick in Chetwynd Aston, meet at 11am at the Wheatsheaf Inn on Pave Lane. Anyone wanting to help on Thursday and Sunday is welcome. More information about becoming a Street Champion and other volunteering opportunities here.
Environmental enforcement – on the subject of clean ups and litter... a few people have paid Fixed Penalty Notices for littering over this last week. With around 2,500 litter bins in the borough, it is cheaper and easier to use the bins. Please use the bins to help keep our borough tidy and if you see anyone littering (including from a vehicle), please report it here.
