Under the new contract, which comes into effect in April, there will be regular road sweeping on all roads and footpaths where a sweeper can operate and litter picking on all estates. Grounds maintenance services will be improved, with crews doing additional grass cutting and weed spraying in residential areas. Extra crews will also be out in the summer months.

idverde’s community-focussed approach to serving the borough, will see crews dedicated to working in local areas so that residents will soon get to know them and a new community development officer will be appointed to work with local councils and communities.

The Meet the Contractor day outside the library at Southwater One on Wednesday 20 March from 10am to 4pm is a chance for people to chat to the team, pick up some free goodies, see some of their newly branded vehicles and ask questions.  They will be joined by members of the cabinet, council officers and a few of the council’s volunteer Street Champions who will talk about how they are helping to create a better borough.

Cllr Shaun Davies, leader of Telford & Wrekin Council, said: “Our environment matters to people and idverde care about working with communities to get things right. We are very much looking forward to working with idverde, and this event is a great opportunity for people to meet them and find out a little more.”

Saul Huxley, idverde’s Client Partnerships Director, said: “We’re so looking forward to starting work in the borough.  This is an important contract for us and the March event is a chance for us to meet residents, volunteers and others.  Please come along on the day and say hello.”
