Free bulk collections to continue for over 65s and disabled

Free bulk collections will continue for Telford and Wrekin residents aged over 65 and those with a disability as part of a series of one off investments which will total £3.6m.

Telford & Wrekin Council will also continue to offer a 25 per cent discount on bulk collections booked by residents in receipt of Council |Tax or Housing Benefit.


Borough residents aged over 65 will be able to take advantage of one free bulk collection per calendar year for up to six items for each household.


Residents with a disability will also be able to book one free bulk collection per calendar year for up to six items for each household.


Telford & Wrekin Council Leader Councillor Shaun Davies said: “I am delighted that we are able to continue these offers for some of our more vulnerable residents.


“It means that thousands of residents can potentially benefit from free bulk collections or a 25 per cent discount.”
