Pride In Our Community improvements - week beginning 14 January 2019
Roads and footpaths – carriageway patching is being carried out in High Street in Hadley.  Works to resurface a footpath near The Ley in Dawley commences today.  Get live updates on street works and traffic management schemes in Telford here.

Residential parking – crews are due to complete works in Old Wharf, Malinslee to make improvements to residential parking provision. Works commence to create new parking areas on Woodrows, Woodside.

Footbridges and other structures – Crews are still working on the Priorslee boardwalk – the larger footbridge was completed before Christmas, and work continues on the smaller one due to complete in the next 2 weeks. Work to fill in Underpasses C4 in Randlay Avenue (near Catherton) continues. Work to clear vegetation off a number of highways structures across the borough also continues.

Drainage – Works in Edgmond Road, Newport near the junction with Stone Bridge are due to complete by the end of the week.

Winter maintenance – our gritters will be out as and when needed. Here’s the Met Office 5 day forecast for Telford.

Potholes - crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. Please report any potholes you spot here or via the Everyday Telford app.

Street lighting – crews are working on upgrading street lights in Wrockwardine, Great Dawley, Hollinswood and Randlay and Newport. As the teams upgrade the street lights in each area, they inspect each column and light first. In some cases, the column needs replacing and so it will be at this point that the new LEDs are installed. Some are in need of further inspection, and so these too are being done later. The full LED programme will be completed by April. If you have a question about street lighting, please email streetlighting@telford.gov.uk.

Improvements in Hollies Road and surrounding area in Wellington – crews are finishing off some signing and speed cushion works, which are likely to be completed in the week of 21 January. Final work to the surfacing of Cranage Crescent and Steventon Road will be done on 18 January and should last no more than a day. More information, including FAQs and contact details here.

Grounds maintenance and litter picking – crews are out and about doing seasonal jobs. You can report a grounds maintenance issue here. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here

Environmental enforcement – Since Christmas, enforcement officers have been out investigating 19 reported abandoned vehicles. This has resulted in 5 legal notices being issued. If you aren’t planning to use your vehicle for an extended period of time, please make sure it is parked on private land. Abandoned vehicles can be reported here.

Street Champions – Our Street Champions report issues they see to us and do litter picks (among other things) and Snow Wardens help out in their local communities when the white stuff arrives. If you would like to volunteer as a Street Champion or Snow Warden please get in touch.
