Pride In Our Community improvements - week beginning 22 October 2018

Roads – work continues in Kingsway Crescent, Kingsland, Charles Road and Arleston Avenue, Manor Road, Toll Road and Stone Crescent, Arleston, Hollies Road and Orleton Lane, Wellington. Get live updates on street works and traffic management schemes in Telford here.

Church Aston culvert – The Dale in Church Aston remains closed following the collapse of the carriageway earlier this month. Surveys of the underground culvert to try and establish its extent are continuing and the road is expected to be shut for up to four weeks.

Footpaths – improvements continue in Oakengates and Madeley.

Road lining – as road lining is a seasonal job, crews will be finishing this week by doing various jobs on a find and fix basis in areas across the borough.

Drainage – work start on Waterloo Road in Ketley and will continue for two weeks. Work also continues in Preston upon the Weald Moors.

Winter maintenance – this is now in full swing and our gritters are ready for action. The Met Office 5 day forecast for Telford isn’t looking too bad though.

Potholes - crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. Please report any potholes you spot here or via the Everyday Telford app.

Street lighting – crews are working on upgrading street lights in Wellington, Hollinswood, Overdale and Dawley. If you have a question about street lighting, please email streetlighting@telford.gov.uk

Improvements in Hollies Road and surrounding area in Wellington continue until mid-December. Temporary road closures are in place, but are being phased in order to keep disruption to local residents & businesses to a minimum. More info, including FAQs and contact details here.

Grounds maintenance and litter picking – crews are out in areas across the borough and will begin the job of clearing leaves in early November once the majority have fallen. They will also then start planting up the winter bedding. You can report a grounds maintenance issue here. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here.

Street Champions – our volunteers are doing a champion job in their communities. They report issues they see to us and do litter picks (among other things). We’re also rallying our Snow Warden volunteers who help out in local communities when the weather takes a turn for the worse. If you would like to volunteer as a Street Champion or Show Warden in your area let us know. Details of all volunteering opportunities here.
