£1000 funding available for environment and community group projects
Community groups are being urged to apply for funding for projects based in the borough of Telford and Wrekin. The EnviroGrant is an established funding scheme run by recycling contractor Veolia in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council.
Community groups can apply for up to £1000 for projects that benefit the community or the environment. The EnviroGrant is part of the added value initiative which was secured by Telford & Wrekin Council through the Waste Service Contracts with Veolia. In the last three years over 50 groups have benefitted from the funding including Halesfield Day Nursery, Friends of Dothill Nature Reserve and Friends of Apley Woods.
Robert Fox, Deputy Head of Donnington Wood Junior School, who also received a grant said, “The grant enabled us to make our gardening project happen – allowing families and the school to come together to learn and grow produce.”
Ruth Jones, Communications Officer for Veolia, said “We are encouraging groups to apply as soon as possible as the deadline for entries is 31 July. It is a fantastic opportunity for local groups to kick start some amazing projects.”
Application forms are available here or by contacting Ruth at ruth.jones@veolia.com or 07824 545597.
