1,500 begonias have been planted in Ketley in a display depicting the flag of St. George.
Councillor Shaun Davies, Leader of Telford & Wrekin Council, said: “Like many in our Borough we will be cheering the lads on. The World Cup is a fantastic sporting event and I hope as many people and companies show their support for England.
“Often there are rumours on social media about councils’ views on flags. Let me be clear. If, during the World Cup competition, people want to decorate their homes and businesses in England flags, then we welcome it. We’ve done it with flowers and we will be flying the flag of St George from the roof of our offices in Addenbrooke House.
“Let’s do all we can to show our support for the national team in Russia.”
