Carnival Of Giants procession

Carnival of Giants 2017 is this Saturday 11am-4pm in Telford Town Park and this year we are doing things differently.

Carnival Of Giants

This Saturday we need your help to try something new and in preparation for the big celebration of Telford turning 50 next year!

The parade will not be going through Southwater - it will be starting off on Lawn Central and continuing down Grange Central (see the map). We need you to come and line the route.

The parade starts at 1pm and there will be barriers on the paths along with a road closure so it will be safe! You will get an excellent view from here and you can follow the parade back towards the park and become part of the fun

Why not start your day by parking in one of the shopping centre car parks and make viewing the parade your first job of the day? Then join us back in the park for all the other fun as we are here until 4pm!

As a result of the carnival, a number of roads in Telford Town Centre will be closed at 12:45pm and will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so as the procession passes through. It is hoped that all the roads will be clear by 2pm but this will be completely dependent on the progress of the procession.

These roads include Ironmasters Way, Lawn Central - Eastbound only, Hollinsgate, Saint Quentin Gate, Grange Central, Dale Acre Way and Grange Central.

All buses will continue to use the main bus station throughout the period of the closure for the Carnival.

The bus stops that will not be served are the length of Dale Acre Way in Hollinswood and the bus stops on Grange Central and St Quentin Gate.
