Excitement builds for popular Telford Balloon Fiesta
With just a week to go until the Telford Balloon Fiesta once again opens at QE11 Arena in Telford Town Park, Telford & Wrekin Council are delighted to announce headline events for the weekend.
As part of the new-look music evening line-up on Friday 26 August visitors can look forward to music from local legends Dirty Rockin Scoundrels, as well as party band Gineva, Rick Cosco and the Dutch prog rock group Focus – who are in the middle of their European tour.
Saturday and Sunday will see the popular balloon flights early morning and evening – dependent on weather. In addition a whole host of entertainment includes live music from Shropshire Music Awards, flight simulator and motorcycle display teams wowing the crowds. On Sunday the Carnival Parade will showcase performance, dance and spectacular costumes and visitors can enjoy the circus-themed performance from Circus Sensible and a hose of family entertainment.
“With over 25 hot air balloons on site for the weekend we are very much looking to this Balloon Fiesta being the biggest and best yet. There will be plenty of family-fun activity, music and dance performances and we are looking to an absolutely fantastic weekend. This is a highlight in the events calendar for Telford & Wrekin Council as we know it attracts regional visitors as well as thousands of our residents in the borough. The Council’s ‘on your side’ investment includes £750,000 commitment into our events programme to ensure we continue to provide a range of activity for residents and attracts visitors to the region”.
