Platinum Jubilee Celebration Grant Fund

Telford & Wrekin Council’s Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration Grant has now all been allocated after an amazing response from local community groups applying for funding.

Platinum Jubilee Celebration Grant Fund

The Celebration Fund was set up by Telford & Wrekin Council to ensure the Platinum Jubilee weekend 2 to 5 June is one to remember bringing together communities and for marking and remembering the seven decades of Her Majesty’s reign.

All applicants have now been contacted and informed if they have been successful in obtaining grant funding from the Celebration Fund.

Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Green Spaces, Natural and Historic Environment and Cultural Services, Cllr Carolyn Healy (Labour) said:

“We were absolutely delighted with the response we had from local groups and organisations. It shows a great willingness and desire to come together at that this time. We have received applications from faith groups, charities, schools, Parish and Town councils, businesses as well as community and voluntary groups.

The range of celebration events where funding has been successful include afternoon teas, music and entertainment events, community films, fun days and summer fetes, Jubilee Big Lunches and celebrations of the Commonwealth and are sure to provide lots of opportunities for all to get involved.”

Residents and visitors can keep up to date with events in the area online at www.telford.gov.uk/jubilee2022 where Telford & Wrekin Council will also be sharing tips on how to make your party as sustainable as possible.
