Getting Back to School Safely
From Monday 8 March attendance at school becomes compulsory once again with all children expected to return to their classrooms. For secondary children this will be on a phased return.
Here’s the information you need to know about your children returning safely. It's a long one but stick with it as it will be useful ⬇️
🍎🖍 PRIMARY SCHOOLS 🖍🍎
☑️ School staff will continue to take two rapid COVID-19 tests each week at home.
☑️ Home testing is now available for adults who live in households with children in education, this includes parents/carers and those in their support or childcare bubbles. It includes adults working in the wider school community, including bus drivers and after school club leaders. More information on this is available here
😷 Parents/carers should wear a face covering when dropping off and picking up their children.

STAFF
☑️ Secondary school and college staff will be required to do two tests per week at home which will be provided by their school.
☑️ Adults in support or childcare bubbles with school staff can also test themselves twice every week at home. Adults working in the wider school community, including bus drivers and after school club leaders can also get a test. More information on this is available here
😷 Staff are to wear face coverings in all areas, including classrooms, where social distancing cannot be maintained.
STUDENTS:
☑️ Students will take three COVID-19 tests at existing school testing facilities when they return to school. During the week beginning 8 March, students will have a phased return to support completion of the tests.
☑️ Students will then be provided with two rapid tests to use each week at home.
😷 Students are to wear face coverings in all areas, including classrooms, where social distancing cannot be maintained.
⬅️➡️ Students must keep remember to social distance as much as possible.
PARENTS/CARERS

🚌 Will your child travel to school on an Arriva Bus?🚌
We have been working with Arriva to increase capacity on their busier home to school bus routes.
As part of children's safe return to education from 8 March, Arriva services that begin with an “S” will resume.
ℹ️The "S" services are school bus services that are not available to the general public.
These services will be identified on the bus and on the Arriva App with an "S" prefix and signage, indicating these buses are for use only by pupils travelling to and from school.
