Council supports residents on reduced income during the pandemic

The Council is launching a dedicated guide to inform residents of all the range of benefits and support available to them, if they are struggling with a reduced income due to coronavirus.

Council supports residents on reduced income during the pandemic

The Council has put together, in one place, all the benefits and support residents on reduced income (due to the pandemic) can get from the Government, from the Council and from different partner organisations.

The guide is available to view and download at www.telford.gov.uk/coronavirus/support
This website will be continuously updated, if new coronavirus support measures are announced or if there are changes to the existing ones.

Anyone who wants to request a printed copy of the guide can do so by calling 01952 382 030 (opening hours - Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm) or by emailing contact@telford.gov.uk

The Council’s “Financial support and assistance guide during the pandemic” includes information on applying for Council Tax reduction, Free School Meals, Test and Trace support payments, Emergency Welfare Assistance (if you are unable to afford essentials, such as food or heating), Job Box services (to help you find employment) and many other benefits and support schemes.

Cllr Richard Overton, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Enforcement, Community Safety and Customer Services said: “We continue to live in uncertain times and we want to ensure our residents are getting the support they need, now more than ever.

“That’s why we’ve been working with partner organisations and put together this useful guide - to make it easier for anyone, to see in one place, the support they are entitled to, if they are facing financial difficulties caused by the pandemic.”

“Visit www.telford.gov.uk/coronavirus/support and please help us spread the word, if you know something who could benefit. “
