Council shortlisted for Amazon Business Exchange Award

The Kindle Kindness campaign was shortlisted for the award following its huge success over the summer.

The awards will be delivered virtually over a two day period.

The Amazon Business Exchange Awards attract many procurement, finance and supply chain leaders across all industries to help them innovate and build efficient processes for their businesses.

The Kindle Kindness campaign was launched during the height of lockdown and has seen more than £20,000 raised by the public, Town and Parish Councils, businesses and other organisations.

Donations were used to purchase more than 200 Kindles to the Princess Royal Hospital and care homes across the borough in a bid to keep patients and residents entertained and keep in touch with family and friends.

Councillor Paul Watling, Cabinet Member for Cooperative Communities, Engagement and Partnerships said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have been shortlisted for this prestigious award for our Kindle Kindness campaign.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to all the residents, Town and Parish Councils and businesses across the borough who donated more than £20,000 towards this campaign.”
