Pride in Our Community improvements - week starting 16 September 2019
Here’s what our crews are working on this week, plus links to more information and to report any issues you are aware of.
Road surfacing – crews are still working at Trench Lock Interchange (due to finish by 20 Sept). To keep disruption to minimum, the work is being done overnight with road closures in place from 7pm to 6am. Resurfacing work also starts at Apley Roundabout (near Princess Royal Hospital) on Thursday 19 Sept. The work at Apley Roundabout will be done in 2 phases and is scheduled for completion by 30 Sept - again work will be carried out overnight with road closures in place from 8.30pm to 6am. Diversions signs will be in place and access to the hospital will be via Grainger Drive for the duration of the scheme. More information about these and other improvement projects here.
Drains – crews are out with the gully tanker cleaning drains on Park Road (Dawley Green Way) and A442 Hollinswood Interchange. You can report a drainage issue here.
Road safety schemes – crews are installing road safety measures around Queenswood Primary School.
Potholes - crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. This week they are in Aqueduct, Brookside, Coalbrookdale, Donnington, Ironbridge, Leegomery, Malinslee, Priorslee, St Georges, Stirchley, Sutton Hill and Wellington. Please report any you spot here.
Footpaths – crews are improving footpaths in Dawley Bank and Malinslee (Captain Webb Drive, Concorde, Chesterfield Road, Eyton Road). You can report a footpath issue here.
Street lighting – crews fix faulty street lights reported to us. Please report any you spot here.
Grounds maintenace - crews are out grass cutting in areas across the borough and pruning in Brookside, Leegomery and Wellington. The arboricultural team are in Apley, Dawley Bank, Ironbridge, Leegomery and Newport. You can report a grounds maintenace issue here.
Street cleansing - crews are bin emptying and litter picking in areas across the borough and road sweeping in Hadley and Leegomery. You can report an issue with littering here.
Street Champions - our volunteer Street Champions are out and about doing their bit to keep neighbourhoods tidy. Details about becoming a Street Champion and other volunteering opportunities here.
Environmental Day at Woodside – our staff, Street Champions and Feed the Birds volunteers as well as staff from idverde/RSPB and Veolia will be attending the event at the Park Lane Centre on Wednesday 18 September, 12noon to 4pm – all are welcome along to find out how you can help your local environment.
Litter pick at St Georges and Priorslee - On Wednesday, 18th September - St Georges and Priorslee Parish Council are holding a litter pick between 5pm-7pm at the Parish Council offices on Grove Street (TF2 9LJ). You are welcome to come by and give them a hand!
Litter pick around the the Town Centre - Thursday, 19 September Fujitsu are joining in with the Street Champion spirit by holding a litter pick around the Town Centre.
