On National Offer Day, children up and down the country learned which primary school they will attend from the 2019/20 academic year.

In Telford & Wrekin, 2006 applications were received on time. Of those, (97 per cent) received their first preference or second preference and every applicant who applied on time was offered a school place.

A total of 37 children were unable to secure a place at a school indicated on their application form but all were offered an alternative place within walking distance.
Clive Jones, Director of Children’s and Adult Services said: “We have invested heavily in our primary schools in recent years, increasing the number of places available in schools in the areas where we knew they would be needed.

“Today’s figures show that this long-term approach has paid off and we are able to continue to offer more families places at their preferred schools than the regional and national averages, which is excellent news.”

As 100 per cent of applications are now made online, applicants will be able to log on to the website and see their offers from midnight on national offer day – 16 April 2019. Emails will also be sent out on offer day.
