Games on for Stirchley ball court
Work to refurbish an old but popular ball court in Stirchley in Telford is now complete.
The leisure facility has new fencing panels, a refreshed court surface and repainted bins and benches.
The improvements to the ball park are part of Telford & Wrekin Council’s Pride in Our Community investment programme and made possible with support from local ward councillors’ Pride Fund and Section 106 monies.
Councillor Rae Evans, Telford & Wrekin Council cabinet member for people services, visitor economy and partnerships, said: “There’s a big push nationally to encourage people to lead more socially active lives, and these type of facilities help them to do that.
“This is a popular ball park and has been very well used, so I am happy that we have been able to work with our partners to freshen it up. Our thanks to everyone who has contributed.”
