A place for everyone – that’s Totally Telford
Telford & Wrekin Council is launching later this month a brand new quality of life campaign called ‘Totally Telford’ which will profile Telford as a great place to live, work, invest and visit.
Telford is already ranked in the top 50 UK places to live and will celebrate its status as a leading UK destination with a new campaign that will support the growth of a number of key business sectors across the borough.
In the most recent [2015] The best places to live in the UK, Quality of Life index completed by USwitch ranked Telford in 40th place. The study considers factors such as employment, income, house choice, affordability and living costs, health and wellbeing, access to technology and quality of community.
In another study completed by Legatum Institute [2016] Telford was celebrated as a leading destination for business investment and enterprise positioned in the top 30% of the UK marketplace.
‘Totally Telford’ has been created to showcase Telford with a new approach to marketing that will work with key business sectors and business leaders to be the voice of Telford, locally, regionally and nationally.
A toolkit will be created to suit the needs of each individual sectors from construction to education to engineering to leisure and community.
The campaign will not only help support existing businesses to thrive but will also attract new investment into the area which is key to the success of Telford’s economic growth, resilience and profile.
In practical terms, this campaign is as much about residents, businesses and investors in Telford today as it is about laying the foundations to welcome new residents, businesses and investor into our thriving towns.
Councillor Shaun Davies, Leader of Telford & Wrekin Council said: “When you start to think about quality of life, you start to appreciate that it has the potential to influence people making a whole range of important decisions.
“Let’s consider a new resident coming to work in Telford, where do they buy their new home, educate their children, what are the options for further education and will Telford give the best start in life.
“As a leading investment destination we attract national and international developments and we need to ensure that new investors have all the information they need to be assured Telford is the right choice, not just for their business but for their employees and their families.
“This is a ground breaking campaign that works directly with our business network’s to support them and Telford in fulfilling our ambition for growth.”
