Residents encouraged to receive their next Council Tax bill online.

Telford & Wrekin Council are asking residents to sign up to receive their next Council Tax bill direct to their email inbox instead of a posted paper bill.

Residents encouraged to receive their next Council Tax bill online.

Anyone signed up for council tax ebilling by 1 April 2019 could win an Apple iPad.

Posting out bills costs the authority tens of thousands of pounds so by receiving their bill by email residents can help to reduce costs which can be spent on community services, and also helps the environment by using less paper.

And if a bill is needed for ID purposes householders can easily print a copy off as and when required.

Residents who sign up for ebilling by Friday 1 April 2019 will also be entered in to a free prize draw to win an Apple iPad 32GB Wi-Fi.

Councillor Lee Carter, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Finance, Partnerships and Commercial Services, said: “People are now very used to receiving gas or electricity bills by email and we offer the same service for Council Tax bills.

“We currently spend a tens of thousands of pounds a year on postage costs alone, money which could be better spent protecting frontline services.

“E-billing also means residents can view their bill as soon as it is available and as often as they like, plus they will always know where it is!”
