Mid-winter homelessness provision
As we come to the end of another successful year of alleviating homelessness in Telford and Wrekin, we would like to thank all the services who have partnered with us and look forward to the continued partnership. next year. Winter and Christmas is an especially demanding time for all emergency services. Anyone wishing to make a donation can call Maninplace on 01952 248248 for more information. Their office close 3pm Friday December 21 and reopen 9am Wednesday 2nd January. All calls relating to rough sleepers will be responded to on 01952 248248 during the holiday period.
Telford Crisis Support work all year round to address the growing crisis of food poverty. There are a number of food donation points where people can donate food parcels. Visit http://telfordcrisissupport.org.uk/get-involved/donation-points for local donation locations.

We would also like to thank the general public who have stepped up again and provided for those in need in so many ways, small or large.
Tackling issues around homelessness with our partners is supported through a £100,000 legacy fund. Part of this funding is for transitional housing, and to complement these services the council asked for match funding from government. This was rejected despite the government’s declaration to find a solution to homelessness following another death of a rough sleeper outside of Parliament earlier this month.
Councillor Richard Overton, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing and Enforcement, said: “The holiday season can be a tough time for those who are sleeping rough. Fortunately, Telford has enjoyed enormous success in keeping the numbers of street homeless to a relatively low level.
It is the responsibility of everyone working and living in Telford & Wrekin to help it continue to tackle rough sleeping as rough sleeping is hazardous and often detrimental to health & well-being.”
