HMO Landlords: It’s time to license your property
The rules around managing Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) change on Monday 1st October.
From that date, the law will require HMOs with 5 or more people living as 2 or more households to be licensed.
The rule change is being brought in by central government and the licenses will be issued by Telford & Wrekin Council.
Earlier this year, the Council advised HMO landlords to read up on the new rules and laws and complete a DBS check in preparation for applying for the new licence. It’s now time for landlords to apply for the licence here: https://propertylicensing.telford.gov.uk/
