Former Mayor thanks his cadet

The former Mayor of Telford & Wrekin has wrapped up his year in office by presenting his cadet with a specially made badge.

Cllr Stephen Reynolds was the borough’s Mayor in 2017/18. His cadet was Lyle Akins of the Sea Cadets based in Donnington.

The role of the Cadet is to attend events and engagements with the Mayor as and when appropriate in the course of their official duties.

Earlier this month (Tues 4 September) Cllr Reynolds visited the Sea Cadets where Lyle was presented with his well deserved Mayoral Cadet 2017/18 badge.

Cllr Reynolds said: “Being a Mayoral Cadet is a high profile appointment made to young people who have good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people.

“Kyle was an excellent cadet and I know he enjoyed it. I was delighted to present him with his badge.

“As well as being an addition to his personal badge collection, I hope it will bring fond memories of his year as the Mayor’s Cadet.”
