Pride In Our Community improvements - week beginning 17 September 2018

Here’s an update on the work happening this week as part of the Pride in Our Community programme. Also a link to nominating someone you know for a Telford Community Pride Award - deadline for nominations is 28 September.

Pride In Our Community improvements - week beginning 17 September 2018

Roads – work starts in Lancaster Avenue, Worcester Road, Johnston Road and Gloucester Avenue, Dawley; Hollies Road and Orleton Lane, Wellington. Work also continues in Station Road, Dawley and New Road, Wrockwardine Wood.

Footpaths – improvements continue in Ketley & Overdale, Dawley & Aqueduct and Brookside.

Road lining – road lining crews will be working in Stirchley and Brookside on a find and fix basis.

Signing – crews are working in Donnington and Malinslee.

Potholes fixers – ‘Find it Fix it’ crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. The Jetpatcher is also out in more rural areas over the coming weeks filling potholes and other defects that have been reported to us. Please report any potholes you spot here or via the Everyday Telford app.

Street lighting – crews are working on upgrading street lights in Wrockwardine, Ketley, Dawley and Lawley. If you have a question about street lighting, please email streetlighting@telford.gov.uk.

Litter picking, grass cutting and pruning – crews are out grass cutting, pruning, weeding and litter picking. You can report a grounds maintenance issue here. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here.

Improvements in Hollies Road and surrounding area in Wellington has started and will continue until mid-December. Temporary road closures will be in place, but these will be phased in order to keep disruption to local residents and businesses to a minimum. The new Telford footbridge linking the train station to town centre is now in place. Engineers are now working flat out to de-rig the crane to get the EP (A442) reopened for the early hours of Wednesday. Link to the full story here.
