Pride In Our Community improvements - week starting 25 June

Here’s what our crews are working on this week.

A442 Eastern Primary closure – Telford’s main north/south trunk road will be closed between Wombridge Interchange and Hollinswood Roundabout from Wednesday June 27 to Tuesday July 2. This is to allow one of Europe’s largest cranes to be assembled on the carriageway ahead of swinging the rail section of the new footbridge into place. More information here:  http://newsroom.telford.gov.uk/News/Details/14154

Roads – Highway improvements will continue on Parish Close and Church Walk, Dawley.

Footpaths – Work will continue in Dawley & Aqueduct, Wrockwardine Wood & Trench and Brookside

Road lining – Road lining crews will be working in the Priorslee and St Georges area as well as on a find and fix basis across the borough.

Street lighting – crews are upgrading lights to more energy-efficient LEDs in Wrockwardine, Oakengates, Dawley and Hadley & Leegomery. If you have a question about street lighting, please email streetlighting@telford.gov.uk.

Potholes fixers – ‘Find it Fix it’ crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. Please report any you spot here http://www.telford.gov.uk/info/20046/street_care_and_cleaning/454/potholes/2 or via the Everyday Telford app.

Litter picking, grass cutting and pruning – estate crews are out litter picking and cutting grass in areas around Brookside, Sutton Hill, Woodside, Hollinswood, Randlay, Stirchley, Malinslee, Leegomery and College. Crews continue to be out grass cutting following the prolonged warm spell and wet weather. Crews out pruning will be in Coalbrookdale, Lightmoore, Ironbridge, Woodside, Brookside, Hollinswood and Malinslee. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here http://www.telford.gov.uk/info/20046/street_care_and_cleaning/513/street_littering_and_litter_bins.

Summer bedding – planting is now complete and flowers in the shape of the George Cross have been added at a flower bed in Ketley to support England’s World Cup campaign. Many of the planting schemes were done in partnership with parish and town councils.

Wellington town centre deep clean – crews have nearly completed power washing plus removing graffiti and chewing gum. They will move on to Dawley High Street on Monday (2 July).

St Leonards Church, Malinslee  – crews are carrying out refurbishment and improvement to the church’s Garden of Remembrance. This involves removing grass and replacing it with a slate grey finish.
