Armed Forces Day 2018
Saturday 30 June marks the tenth National Armed Forces Day and Telford & Wrekin Council will be demonstrating its support in the run up to the celebration.
To show its appreciation of the Armed Forces, including regulars, reserves, veterans and cadets as well as their families, the Council will fly the Armed Forces Flag from the roof of Addenbrooke House in Telford from 22 June until 6 July.
The Council is also encouraging town and parish councils and businesses to do the same.
Councillor Kevin Guy, Member Champion for Veterans and Armed Forces who served in the Royal Navy, and Chair of the Armed Forces Covenant, said: “Armed Forces Day is an opportunity for everyone in Telford and Wrekin to say thank you the servicemen and women who are committed to protecting our country, and also to their families who support them throughout their service.
“We will be showing our support by “Flying the Flag”, and we encourage others in the borough to say thank you to Armed Forces personnel.”
Between Saturday 23 June and Saturday 7 July the Council will be offering a series of discounts and free access to some of its leisure and entertainment services for serving personnel and their families.
