Big Top latest: Father’s Day offer for Sounds of the 60s
Telford & Wrekin Council today (Mon 11 June) announced a special Father’s Day offer for one of its Big Top shows to mark this year’s Telford 50 celebrations.
All tickets for the Sounds of the 60s show on Monday August 6 will be priced just £17 until midnight on Father’s Day, Sunday June 17.
Events at the 1,000 seater Big Top in the Fields in Trust QEII Town Park Arena will run from 4-19 August, marking a special double birthday of 50 years of Telford and 50 years of Oakengates Theatre @ The Place.
It will feature 14 spectacular shows – bringing a diverse range of entertainment to the Telford public including music, comedy, dance and children’s shows.
The Big Top will be sponsored by Telford Centre and the Father’s Day offer for the Sounds of the 60s Show allows customers to take advantage of a reduction of as much as £4 per ticket.
The Sounds of the 60s show has been wowing audiences around the world, selling out and headlining venues from the London Palladium to Old Trafford in Manchester.
It features a band called The Zoots who reproduce the sixties beats that everyone loves – including legendary songs by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Monkees, The Beach Boys, The Kinks, Elvis Presley and dozens more.
National critics have described The Zoots as “impressive”, “authentic” and “impossible not to like”.
Councillor Rae Evans, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for People Services, Tourism and Partnerships, said: “The Big Top events represent a fantastic way to celebrate Telford’s landmark birthday and I feel we really do have a fantastic array of shows lined up.
“I am delighted that we are able to mark Father’s Day with an offer of reduced admission fees for the brilliant Sound of the 60s show – this is a one off opportunity for music lovers to snap up tickets at a reduced price.”
