Change to cabinet position following Council AGM
There has been one change in the Council’s cabinet following Thursday evening’s annual general meeting.
Cllr Angela McClements has stepped down from the cabinet with Cllr Hilda Rhodes now taking on cabinet member responsibility for Transport, Roads and Broadband.
The change follows Cllr McClements being appointed as the Council’s representative on the Board of Wrekin Housing Trust at the beginning of the year.
Council leader Shaun Davies said: “I thank Angela for all her hard work and the excellent job she has done in her cabinet role and I am sure she will continue that in her role representing the Council on WHT and driving forward the common goals the Council and the Trust share.
“Hilda is an experienced councillor and I am sure will prove a very able cabinet member.”
At the meeting, the Council also elected Cllr Malcom Smith as Speaker while Cllr Charles Smith was elected as the Chair of Planning Committee.
