Spring appears to have sprung…and our crews are taking full advantage. Here’s what they are up to this week....

Pride In Our Community work happening this week: 23 April 2018

* Roads – Resurfacing of the High Friction Surfacing will be continuing taking place on parts of Cotwall Roundabout, Bridge Bank and Ironbridge Road, Ironbridge. Highway improvements will be continuing on Teagues Crescent, Richmond Avenue and New Road, Wrockwardine Wood; Catherton and Dodmoor Grange, Stirchley. Work on the A442 (Leegomery roundabout to Sparrowhawk Way Junction) is due to be completed by the end of the week. Work is due to commence in Brindleyford, Brookside, Caynton in Stirchley and Coalport Road in Madeley. Remedial works will also be undertaken in St Luke’s Road in Doseley.



* Footpaths – Weather permitting, work will continue in Wombridge Common, Hadley & Leegomery and Sutton Hill. Work has also started in Dawley & Aqueduct. Works are also due to begin in the Ironbridge Gorge. Works are continuing into a second week on Severn Way. It is anticipated that the first section to reinstate the flood damaged area will be completed midweek. The same crew will then commence works to replace the wooden sleeper steps linking up to Waterloo Street. The works are being carried out to support the Ironbridge Coracle Trust with their peoposed scheme to replace the Eustace coracle shed.


* Road lining and signage – work to improve signing and lining along the B5063 continues this week and is expected to take a further three weeks to complete. We will also be working in Newport this week refreshing various road markings.


*Parking improvements – We are currently replacing all parking machines in Ironbridge car parks to improve reliability and add card payment facilities. Works to increase parking provision in Brands Farm Way continue.


* Street lighting – crews are continuing with upgrading lights to more energy-efficient LEDs in Wellington, Hadley & Leegomery, Brookside and Dawley. 


* Potholes – crews are continuing to find and fix potholes as well as repairing those potholes that have been reported.  Please help by reporting any potholes you spot using this link http://www.telford.gov.uk/info/20046/street_care_and_cleaning/454/potholes/2


* Litter picking and grass cutting– estate crews will be out litter picking in areas around Brookside, Sutton Hill, Woodside, Hollinswood, Randlay, Stirchley, Malinslee, Leegomery and College. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here http://www.telford.gov.uk/info/20046/street_care_and_cleaning/513/street_littering_and_litter_bins/2.  Crews will begin grass cutting this week on sites where it isn’t too wet.
