Council leader Councillor Shaun Davies has given his reaction to a further statement issued by the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse about its work in Telford.

Councillor Shaun Davies, Council leader said: “I welcome the statement by the national inquiry IICSA, led by Rotherham inquiry author Prof Alexis Jay, who have looked very closely at  practice in the Council.

It’s another indication of how seriously that we and partnerstake our work to prevent and tackle of this vile crime.

“We have supplied IICSA with a range of evidence of ourpractices and we equally very much welcome their work announced earlier thisweek to bring the Truth Project to Telford.

“Work on this will start in April and will vital to ensuringthat the victims and survivors of child sexual exploitation have their voicesheard.”
