Spring is in the air! And here’s what our Pride in Our Community crews are up to this week:

Pride in Our Community work happening this week: 26 March 2018

Roads – highway improvement work on the A442 Queensway (Leegomery roundabout to Sparrowhawk Way Junction) continues.  Crews are also out in the RoadMaster jetpatcher fixing road defects in rural communities. Work to replace the high friction surfacing on Bridge Bank and Ladywood in Ironbridge Gorge will also take place this week.

Road safety schemes – work to install a number of schemes to improve road safety in Dawley continues this week, including traffic calming measures and signage along New road, Harp Lane, Old Vicarage Road, Holly Road and Pool Hill. Another scheme to install a new pedestrian guardrail, widen the footpath and cut back vegetation has started at the zebra crossing on Greyhound Hill, Ketley Bank.

Road lining and signage – work to improve road markings and signage along the length of the B5062 continues.

Footpaths – Crews will be out doing surface treatment works on paths in Wombridge Common, Hadley and Leegomery, and Sutton Hill.

Parking – work to improve parking provision in Aqueduct Road, Aqueduct continues and should be completed this week.

Street lighting – crews are continuing with upgrading lights to more energy-efficient LEDs in Wellington, Trench, The Gorge and Brookside.

Potholes – crews are continuing to find and fix potholes as well as repairing those potholes that have been reported.  Please help by reporting any potholes you spot using this link.

Ironbridge public loos – work to revamp the public loos at the Market Square toilets is on course to be completed in time for Easter.

Dothill Local Nature Reserve – crews are finishing off a few minor jobs to complete the work  near the canal pools and historic pond.

Litter picking – estate crews will be out litter picking in areas around Brookside, Sutton Hill, Woodside, Hollingswood, Randlay, Stirchley, Malinslee, Leegomery and College. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here.

Easter recycling and rubbish collections - Collections are as normal on Good Friday (30 March), but are a day later next week as there will be no collections on Easter Monday (2 April).  Full details of collection day changes here.
