Hadley set to be next Nuplace site and feature affordable rents
Nuplace is delighted to announce it is to build more new homes in Telford and Wrekin – with Blossom Walk in Hadley being the next site to become available.
It is being built by Nuplace’s construction partner Lovell, who developed Phase One sites in Randlay and Madeley and the first Phase Two sites in Dawley and Madeley.
Children from Hadley Learning Community’s Primary phase made site and street name suggestions for the development as well as taking part in an artworkcompetition which saw them designing their dream home.
Ten year old Owen Eggerton won first place and the runner up with Sarah Placzkowska, aged nine. Both won tickets to Telford Ice Rink. The winner’s artwork will also be printed on the hoarding on the outside of the new development.
Hadley Learning Community Primary phase head teacher Erica Aston said: “The children have really loved this project – from using their imagination to think of new street names for the housing development to donning their creative hats and getting involved in the artwork competition.”
Blossom Walk will feature 25 new homes which are a mixture of two bedroom apartments and two and three bedroom houses. It will be the first Nuplace development to feature three properties at affordable rent value.
Councillor Richard Overton, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Housing, said: “Nuplace has been a great success so far with the early developments fully let. I am delighted that the next development will be in a different part of Telford with Hadley benefiting from new homes being available for the rental market. It is also very good that this new development will include some properties at an affordable rent.”
Properties will be ready for owners and tenants to move into in spring 2018. More information can be found here.
