Railway closure and replacement bus services - update March 13 4pm.
West Midlands Railway has responded quickly to issues raised locally and published updated travel guidance to support passengers affected by the landslip in Oakengates.
We know there are still issues and businesses are struggling as well as people getting to work and university because of inadequate bus services.
All partners concerned are working to establish a sufficient temporary service as quickly as possible which includes an express bus linking Telford directly to Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton mirroring the rail services.
We’re supporting engagement with passengers on the ground about timetables and ticketing concerns and most importantly - pushing for increased capacity and alternative rail options.
We continue to raise your concerns with the Department for Transport and rail operators to achieve a swift resolution for the benefit of passengers.
Line operator Network Rail, estimate that the line will be closed until at least Monday 25 March while the embankment is re-stabilised.
Updates will be posted on National Rail’s website Landslip 👉 Landslip: Disruption between Shrewsbury - Wolverhampton until at least Monday 25 March | West Midlands Railway
