“These sessions are part of the council’s ambition to make Telford and Wrekin a cleaner, greener and safer place to live. Best of all, the sessions are completely free to attend, and professional coaches run the sessions so you can be sure your youngsters are safe and having fun.”

Councillor Middleton added: “If you’re going to a Wild Telford session wrap up warm and get ready to spend a few hours exploring the world around you from a new perspective with your children.”

The Urban Games forms part of the Safer & Stronger Communities programme, funded in part by the Police and Crime Commissioner and the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Safer & Stronger Communities aims to create local projects that help reduce crime based on ideas and suggestions by residents. Along with the Urban Games, youth and sport clubs, women’s self-defence classes, reading groups, even art and gardening groups are just a handful of projects the Safer & Stronger Communities team have helped set up in the last year.

It’s easy to get involved and if you have an idea for a project in your area, the team can help with advice as well as funding.
