These informative sessions will continue to provide residents with comprehensive information and expert guidance. Aimed at assisting residents in making well-informed decisions regarding alterations to their properties, these planning surgeries will contribute to the ongoing preservation efforts of the Ironbridge Gorge.

Councillor Carolyn Healy (Lab), Telford & Wrekin Council Cabinet Member for Climate Action, Green Spaces, Heritage & Leisure, said: "Our bi-monthly planning surgeries reinforce our commitment to supporting residents through the planning process and giving the guidance needed to preserve the unique character of the World Heritage Site. It's a vital step towards ensuring the longevity of this cherished site for generations to come, whilst ensuring it remains a liveable community."

Acknowledging the challenges residents face, due to the removal of permitted development rights, the council aims to provide localised support through these surgeries, ultimately fostering a supportive environment within the World Heritage Site community.

Councillor Richard Overton (Lab), Telford & Wrekin Council Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Homes & Enforcement, reiterated the commitment to safeguarding the World Heritage Site by stating: "The 'Article 4 Direction' remains a cornerstone of our dedication to preserving the area's distinctiveness. The planning surgeries will serve as invaluable resources, offering expert advice and guidance to residents navigating planning matters within the World Heritage Site."

In addition to the planning surgeries, Ironbridge Gorge residents can access advice virtually or by phone, ensuring continuous support in preserving the Ironbridge Gorge’s heritage. Further information, resources, and guidance are available on the Telford & Wrekin Council web pages, covering planning applications, appeals, and guidance, as well as details dedicated to the Ironbridge Gorge on listed buildings, conservation areas, and heritage assets.
