Flood Update - Tuesday 2 January 2024

Ironbridge

The Environment Agency has now issued a flood warning for Jackfield and Ironbridge and are expecting a peak of between 5.5-5.9m on Thursday afternoon. With the rain still falling, this could change, so we will keep you up to date.

The flood barriers are up and traffic lights, road signs and flood pumps are being installed at Dale End.

Current road closures are:

•Buildwas Rd

•The Lloyds

•Ferry Rd

•The Wharfage

Businesses remain open in The Gorge as usual. Please use Ironbridge Central Car Park.

Across the borough

With the ground already saturated and plenty of rain, there’s lots of surface water leading to flooding across the borough.

Please stay safe and don’t drive through the flood water.

Current road closures are:

•Bluebell Lane under railway bridge (Alscott)

•Heath Lane (Ellerdine)

•Red House railway Bridge

•Cherrington Crossroads (Cherrington)
