Confections & Creations brings sweet taste to Wellington
A new sweet shop, jewellery repair and printing service has opened under one roof in Wellington thanks to support from Telford & Wrekin Council’s Pride in Our High Street programme.
Confections & Creations has received a business start-up grant to launch at 7, Bell Street in the town.
Offering traditional sweets, a Belgian chocolate counter, a chocolate bouquet service, a wedding cart and much more – the shop is sure to go down a treat with sweet-toothed customers in Wellington and beyond.
Sweets will be weighed and sold out of glass jars while there will also be homemade fudge supplied by a local trader.
In addition, customers will also be able to make the most of other services from the new base – including a print shop offering large photo prints, a photocopying facility, vinyl cutting and sublimation services and a jewellery making and repair service.
Confections & Creations has been launched by business co-owners Nikki Lazic and Kate Everitt.
Kate said: “We are a new business and whilst we have some experience from running market stalls this is something completely different for us both.
“Before we moved in, there wasn’t a traditional sweet shop in Wellington or a print shop which was missed and nowhere else offers a photocopying service other than the library which isn’t open every day.
“In terms of the jewellery, no other business in Wellington repairs or makes jewellery and many people want their favourite items of jewellery repairing or returning to them as working items again so we really feel we are filling a gap in the market for this type of service.
“The sweet shop is the continuation of a successful business that was based in the Market Annexe but the print shop is a completely new part of the business. We’re excited to be bringing all these services together under one roof.”
Councillor Lee Carter (Lab), Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for place (the economy & neighbourhood services) said: “Currently there isn’t a traditional sweet shop or print shop in Wellington so the combination of both of these services will bring back to the town.
“We are pleased to support Confections & Creations with this funding and it brings a previously empty unit in a prime location back into use.
“We are continuing to support businesses across the borough during these challenging times through a series of Pride in Our High Street grants.”
