Over 160 businesses across Telford and Wrekin have now joined the directory and there are over 100 live offers promoting a wide range of services and discounts - boosting business revenue during this peak trading period.

With the festive season fast approaching, businesses are encouraged to sign up for mytlc which is a gateway to hundreds of other local businesses and a platform for offers and discounts which encourages people to make the most of services on their doorstep.

The free-to-join app can help businesses increase their exposure across the borough, generating new footfall which can lead to increased sales.

Shoppers are also encouraged to sign up for the app and take advantage of the vast array of products locally including some with discounts at the touch of a button which can save them valuable money with the cost of living increasing.

Mytlc features businesses from across the Telford & Wrekin borough, including those on main high streets in Dawley, Ironbridge, Newport, Madeley, Oakengates and Wellington.

Shoppers can easily search using a wide range of categories and access promotions on goods and services, leisure activities and attractions, places to dine in or takeaway and much more.

For those businesses who haven’t yet signed up for the app, they are invited to become part of a growing and popular business platform.

Keli King, owner of The Little Green Pantry in Wellington, has been using the app to promote her products and special offers which includes a half price discount on dishwasher powder and ideas for Christmas gifts.

Keli said: “I want to try and help people save money particularly in the run-up to and over the Christmas period so I’m promoting a range of discounts, particularly dishwasher powder which is now half price at 50p for 100 grams which can cost people as little as 5p a wash .

“I’m also using the app to promote affordable Christmas gift ideas including a range of plastic children’s toys and bamboo socks.

“I think this is a great platform for businesses and customers to get on board with and make the most of local offers, particularly at a time when businesses want to generate more sales and customers need to save money.”

During a traditionally busy time of year Boulton’s Artisan Butchery in Madeley is planning to promote regular offers on different meats and products via the app in the new year.

Boulton’s Co-owner Martin Boulton said: “Christmas is a really busy time for us which is great but the new year is a great opportunity for us to upload some regular offers to the app which will we hope customers will take advantage of.

“I think this is a platform which is great to have all year round and an opportunity for businesses to promote offers and discounts during potentially quieter periods of the year.”

John Deighton, owner of Laura Deighton Dance Company in Dawley, said: “We’re pleased to be on mytlc and part of a wider Telford and Wrekin business community.

“Having a presence on the app enables us to raise our profile locally, showcase our classes and and highlight what we have to offer.

“Although we aren’t promoting discounts and offers via the app directly we do have a number of discounts and special offers which are built into our classes so this is a good business platform to be on.”

Councillor Lee Carter (Lab), Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services, Regeneration and the High Street, said: “Not only is this business to consumers app supporting our high street businesses but also those smaller independent businesses in Telford who offer goods and services locally.

“Christmas is a key trading period for businesses and the app is the perfect shop window for them to highlight their latest offers and encourage people to shop local and check out services on their doorstep.

“For those businesses who aren’t on the app we would encourage them to sign up because it can help to widen their customer base and signpost people to special offers, goods and services.

“Similarly we’d also encourage consumers to download the app and check out some of the offers they can take advantage of this Christmas and all year round.”
