The new play park is being delivered as a part of the council’s approved refurbishment plans for the iconic Gower building and is expected to be open for the public at the end of September. The new play park will replace the facilities that have been at the Gower site.

Councillor Lee Carter, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood, Commercial Services & Regeneration (Lab) said: “This is a key milestone for the Gower regeneration scheme. I am pleased to see that the construction of the new play park facilities are being moved forward quickly.  As a council, we are on the side of our residents and we know how valuable local play park facilities are to all of our communities. It has always been our priority to ensure a scheme is bought forward for The Gower which both protects this important heritage building and also provides a facility for use by the local community.”

A new Parish Council Office, community space and homes to rent by Nuplace, the council’s wholly owned housing company, are also being delivered as a part of the refurbishment plan which received planning consent in November 2021.
