Cllr Kelly Middleton, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Public Health and Wellbeing, Equalities and Partnerships (Labour), said:
"People infected with hepatitis C often experience few or no symptoms and can live with the virus for many years without being diagnosed, increasing the risk of severe liver damage.
"However, treating Hepatitis C has never been easier and can be cured with a short course of medication.
"So, we want to get the message out that anyone who has ever been at risk to go out and take a quick and simple test."
